American Gangster was a favorite for most of the WC students. Many would agree that Denzel Washington did a fabulous job in this movie and would recommend people to go see it. Some downsides of the movie were some graphic scenes and the length of the movie being a little too long. Another favorite of the students was the movie Across the Universe. A film taking place in the 1960’s, was a musical journey of people and what they went through during this time. The students loved all of the remade songs of The Beatles. In the movie August Rush, a young runaway boy finds his passion of playing and writing music, and performs his pieces on the streets of New York City. This amazing film shows the journey of this boy and how he gets to the top of his performance. Many agree that this movie is not for everyone but only for those that truly appreciate music and the difficult tasks of performing. Another action packed thriller that was enjoyed by students is Hit Man. It is described as being like a video game because of the gore and action within it. Something to keep in mind is that this film is filled with violence and some scenes that people may be offended by. A movie that will bring back memories of your childhood is the film Enchanted. It is a new Disney movie that goes around the magical fairytale theme that many students remember from their past. Students agreed that This Christmas is a great holiday movie for students to see with their families. Another favorite by the WC girls is Dan in Real Life. This is a movie about a single dad going through the difficulties of raising his teenage daughters. The girls found themselves being able to relate to the funny things that they went through. Comedian Dane Cook and actress Jessica Alba teamed up in the comedy Good Luck Chuck. This was a movie that students enjoyed seeing with each other because of the comedy that attracts to a teenage audience. Gone Baby Gone is another action filled movie that students enjoyed seeing with each other. The Bee Movie was surprisingly a popular movie for WC students. This funny movie was created for a young atmosphere but was enjoyed by many students.
