.Now, LC is more than half way through his sophomore year at Worthington Christian, which, through his eyes, is one year closer to OGTs, driving, and college.
LC has been attending Worthington Christian since the fourth grade; his parents’ goal is to give him a good education in addition to allowing him to hear the Word of God every day.
Some of LC’s favorite aspects of being a 10th grader are not being a freshman anymore and feeling grown-up: as LC says, “One year older, one year wiser.”
Outside of school, LC is involved in a college club and in a youth group at his church to help him learn leadership skills.
LC has many favorite teachers, but the one teacher that influences him the most is Dr. Buzz. LC enjoys his classes and finds his discussions inspiring, causing him to want to go somewhere in life and to make the right decisions.
LC is currently taking 10th grade English with Mrs. Hearon; English is his favorite class. This class pushes him to become better at writing and grammar, which is helping him prepare for next year’s English class, as well as future careers.
There is not a single teacher LC dislikes at WCHS, but Geometry is a class he is not enjoying this semester. LC typically likes math but does not especially enjoy Geometry: “I do like the teacher, Mrs. Fisher, though,” says LC.
Knowing that his goal is to become a sports analyst, speech class and journalism are two major classes for LC. These classes will help him become better at his writing and teach him to speak in front of large crowds so he can become closer to achieving this career.
In a couple of months, LC will become an upperclassman. LC is not worried but is actually excited; he doesn’t find it to be a big deal. He just knows that he will have to take on more responsibility and work harder to do better in school.
