Megan Buskirk, a student at Worthington Christian since she was in 1st grade, enjoysmany things, especially politics. She was born in Dayton, Ohio, and is now 16 years old.
When asked why she chose to be interviewed on politics, she responded, “I’m very passionate about it.” In politics, she likes when people stand up for what they believe.
Megan, however, only enjoys observing and studying politics, not being involved herself. She has never held a position in her class office, nor does she hope to become president of her class.
She mainly enjoys U.S. politics, not world politics, particularly. The person she believes could make the best President is Sarah Palin. Unfortunately, Palin was not able to become Vice President, because, in Megan’s opinion, the fact that she is a woman held her back. She believes that people still have some prejudices against women as leaders.
She believes Palin would make an excellent President because “she knows what she’s doing and stands for what’s right.” As you can imagine, she was upset with the previous election, and disappointed with the loss of McCain and Palin.
When asked what she thought about our current President, she said that she didn’t
agree with his election. She doesn’t believe that he is experienced enough, and thinks that
he won’t follow through with all of his guarantees.
However, she does think he will follow through with some of his promises, one of
those being the reverse abortion law, which will allow taxpayer dollars to go towards supporting abortion clinics.
She wants Obama to prove her wrong and do a good job, but is expecting him to do a rather poor job at being our nation’s President; in short, Megan doesn’t think that Obama will be a good leader.
In her opinion, a good leader is someone who has a lot of experience, and doesn’t
make promises he can’t keep. Also, a good leader should convey what he believes clearly, and should stand for what he believes.
Megan enjoys learning as much as she can about politics. She hopes to pursue either Political Science at college, or to go to Art School. However, no matter what she chooses to pursue, she will always be keeping her eye on the forever-changing world of politics.
